When looking at the world of professional sports and clubs, they operate as a business – this allows them in turn to support their athletes and progression, which then feeds the prestige of the club, and furthers the business. It’s a perpetual wheel and symbiotic relationship, that can be used to great effect.

To date, there isn’t really a replicable model within the world of figure skating. This leaves the responsibility of funding for the pursuit of the sport on parents and families – naturally creating a barrier for many who can’t afford it, and overall limiting the amount of progression that can be achieved by the athletes.

Our vision for The Club, is to establish a new breed of figure skating club – one working in tandem with the sustainable business model of The Boot and Blade, enabling us to help skaters pursuing their goals in a more active sense.
